UNIVERSITY PARTNER FEST

PROJECT BRIEF

The project entails the creation of poster designs for DePaul University's Partner Fest, hosted at the Art Institute of Chicago. The designs are inspired by the artworks showcased within the museum, aiming to visually capture the essence and diversity of the event's cultural offerings. With free admission, students can explore the Art Institute’s renowned global collection, enjoy a robust exhibition schedule, access archival materials at the Ryerson and Burnham Libraries, attend diverse lectures and performances, and much more.

PROCESS

The technical process for designing posters for DePaul University's Partner Fest began with research into the artworks at the Art Institute of Chicago before choosing works from Jackson Pollock and Hokusai, selected to represent contrasting styles and periods. Traditional art pieces were integrated for their aesthetic elements and thematic relevance to the event. The designs were used in contrast to sharper, more geometrical digital graphic design. Modern digital design techniques were applied to enhance and refine the traditional elements, incorporating typography, color schemes, and layout compositions that reflected the dynamic energy of the Partner Fest.
